Since 2000
The Wheelchair Foundation
and
Blackhawk Museum
Our History
Twenty years ago, on June 13, 2000, Kenneth E. Behring
announced his intent to deliver a wheelchair to every child,
teen and adult in the world who needs one, but cannot
afford one. In 20 years we have provided more than 1,115,000
wheelchairs in 150 + countries.
Mr. Behring’s enthusiasm for the Wheelchair Foundation was
infectious, and soon piqued the interest of his closest friends and business associates. A fellow businessman and longtime friend, Don Williams, had worked with Ken to build the premier classic car collection in the world, which resided at Blackhawk Museum, and was soon on board to help in this endeavor.
